MINING AND QUARRIES

slide-123Active commodity mines and aggregate quarries across the nation regularly use aerial imagery and LiDAR for long-range planning and to track, model, and quickly calculate the changing volume of materials. This data is produced in a significantly shorter time frame than traditional ground surveying methods, which translates to much more accurate calculations because the material volume isn’t changing during the survey. Many smaller mines elect to approach this with a UAS (drone) platform to decrease acquisition cost.
